(1) The Indian Penal Code is officially repealed and will no longer remain in force.

(1) The Indian Penal Code is officially repealed and will no longer remain in force.
(2) Despite the repeal, the following provisions remain unaffected:
(3) Any action taken or process started under the repealed Code will be considered valid under the equivalent provisions of the new Code.
(4) The provisions listed in sub-section (2) are in addition to the general effects of repeal under Section 6 of the General Clauses Act, 1897, which ensures continuity of rights and actions despite the repeal.
